SKETCHES
This is my starting point which is heavily influenced by the Threshold journal and NZ Home and Entertaining.

Mainly influenced from the drawings and diagrams in my Threshold journal.

From the
journals: Singapore Architecture,
Threshold, Architektu Aktuell which
belong to Daeun Song, Jiwon Won and KeunHee Kim respectively, different abstractive
idea components and elements are fused and mixed together. The modernized character
is strongly adapted from Daeun’s journal where album of modern buildings is
displayed. This structural form is well supported by the idea discussed in
Threshold journal where articulation of mass and
surface triumphs the subdivision of lines and attenuation of form. The regulating axed of symmetry and
the forms of circle,
square, and triangle is well explored through balance.
From Jiwon's AI:Architecture and Ideas journal
'It can become detached from the ground and dissolve into invisible parameters - flying cities, anchoring.'
'Architecture that is not in space but that is space.
From our
combined design outcome, Daeun’s Access
by Design, Ethics, Place and Environment and Jiwon’s AI: Architectural and Ideas journal is involved. We have summed
that the boxy and blocky design outcome lacks space fusion and intellectual
spatial experiment. Therefore, we have stepped away from the overall design
form and motion and adjusted the building to the user’s needs and functionality.
With such
idea, we then again went back to the design forum and redeveloped the visual
aesthetic and balance of geometries, lighting, motion and form. We went back to
the three journals we used individually at first and changed the overall form and
atmosphere imparted from the building. The heavy, solidifying, masculine and
chunky imagery is lost and elegant, feminine, soft and light imagery is gained.
Notice how the notion of simple geometry is continuously developed on, just
rearranged and redesigned.
Again going
back to functionality, KeunHee Kim’s Applied
Erogonomics and Indoor and Outdoor
Built journal is involved. The heavy wall which was embracing the floor
levels is eliminated completely for ventilation purposes and for the comfort of
disability and ethnic differences which is discussed in Daeun’s Access by Design Journal.
