NZ home and entertaining

Jeremy Hansen. New Zealand Home and Entertaining/Home New Zealand Design Icons, June/July 2012, 9, 17, 26.

As a design based magazine, this journal allowed and lead our build to become its finalised design with its various of different design ideas which embrace texture, landscapem, form, motion and colour through its given theme.

Nature Nurtured
Matakana garden - design a wetland garden without major intervention
By Wndy Marshall and Tony White

Few pages from this magazine was dedicated to this organic theme where gardening is explored through different materials, texture, size and mood. Different texture material, form and its motion, whether it was fixed to the ground or floating/hung in the air was vividly experimented and applied.

1. Park of work 'Submission, Sacrifice Succession' is a wall of sawn logs, now a habitat for native insects.
2.'Emergence, Transition, Maturation' features circular mounds around the base of several trees.
3.Wendy devises artworks from natural materials found on site.

The page below is an advertisement in this magazine which caught my eyes instantly when developing the overall form of our build. The relationship can be read in the 'Floral process' status.

Right - white Venti mosaic tiles from Middle Earth Tiles.
The placing of the tiles and its movement, motion and elegant composition of the quadrilateral  tiles create a detailed yet simple and clean composition.

This journal was focused on the visual aesthetics and the form and motion design elements. Every single elements that are as narrowed down as a simple square and as broad as a green garden is all explored and discussed through design process.
